Two types of scholarships are available :
  1. Grants for “Third country scholars”
    Five Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available for non E-U scholars (academic or professional holding already PhD degree) who want to carry out research and teaching assignments work in an institution of the consortium of EMARO.

    The length of the stay can vary from one to three months. The grant amount is 4800 € per month. These scholarships are awarded to the best scholars on a competitive basis. It should be noted that third-country scholars have to provide their own insurance cover.

    The required documents are given in the application form.

    "Third country" scholars, academic or professional holding already PhD degree and:
    • who are not residents of any of the 27 EU Member countries, the EEA-EFTA states (Island, Liechtenstein and Norway) and candidate countries for accession to the EU (presently Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Turkey).
    • who have not carried out their main activities (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the above mentioned countries.


  2. Grants for EU Scholars
    Four scholarships of three months each are available to European scholars working at EMARO’s European consortium institutions to carry out scholarly (research and teaching) work at the Asian partner institutions of EMARO: Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), Keio University (Japan), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China).
